All-Star Weekend

This past weekend was something I needed. Time to relax and catch up on some rest. Not only did I relax, but I was able to watch the NBA All-Star Festvities. Saturday night's All-Star contests were pretty exciting to watch. In the NBA Slam Dunk Contest, I wonder why the judges didn't give any love to Dwight Howard. He had some nice dunks and showed his hopping abilitiy. But the score he got did not justify the things he did. The 3-point shootout was won by Jason Kapono, a product of UCLA. Surprisingly, Dirk Nowitzki did not show up as anticipated. Sunday night's All-Star game was a blowout, couldn't believe the West won in that fashion.

Now that the All-Star game is over, the Clippers must pull out more wins to get in the Playoffs. They currently are fighting for the 8th spot. A couple weeks ago, they were at the 7th right behind the Lakers. Just hope the Clippers can do some damage down the 2nd half of the season.

Worst Customer Service @ Hooters

Last night I've never had any bad experiences with dining until now. My cousin and a couple friends went to the local Hooters over in Anaheim. We get seated and start looking at the menu figuring out that we'd split 50 wings and some french fries. The waitress introduces herself and says that she's covering for another co-worker that was on break and takes our drink order. So far so good, we get our drinks fine and place our order for wings and some fries. This is where the table turns sour, our order was given to the wrong table and then we had to wait awhile for our new order to arrive. Then 20 minutes later only part of our order arrives and so we start munching on the chicken wings. Another 20 minutes has elapsed and still no fries came to our table nor did any of the waitresses come by to check up on us. Karlo, who was already finished with his drink, was tired of waiting and actually walked up to the coke dispenser to get his refill. We tried waving down the waitresses and none would look our way. Another group wasn't getting served correctly either and had to wait about 30 minutes to get their food and they didn't even order that much. What I didn't understand was why no one went over to check up on us when only about 40% capacity was filled. There was this couple behind us that didn't even get serviced after sitting down so they ended up leaving. Then finally our real waitress who came back from break introduced herself to us and we asked why things haven't been brought to us as planned. By this time, we were already done with our food, none of us had a refill, except for Karlo who walked to the dispenser to get himself a refill, and still haven't gotten our fries. We asked our waitress if we could speak to the manager after he talked to the other group next to us and talk to him, but when she tried to flag him down, he didn't want to come to us. He ended up walking to the back and talking to our waitress. It was already too late to have any apologies given to us. The waitress came back to us and started saying sorry this and sorry that, but we weren't having it. There nothing she could to to fix any of this bad service we received that night until she said that we could go and not pay anything anymore. So we all stood up and left. Karlo was still hungry so we ended up going to Fatburgers and getting some more stuff over there. I know being in the food service industry, it is a hard job to handle all the customers, but when the place is not busy and not crowded, there was no way they should be ignoring customers like that.

I guess having the meal for free made the situation a little better, but it just sucks when a place like Hooters gives bad customer service like that. I know some places have bad customer service, but it's a given because they're either way too busy with many customers or just don't have enough workers to help everyone at once. I still will go back to Hooters because the food is good and they have awesome waitresses working there, I just hope this doesn't happen again.
