Back In Cali...

I'm finally back home from my little 4 day adventure at Salt Lake City. I was here to attend a seminar for a new dental software that we would be supporting at work. It was a nice town, but there wasn't much to do. Sunday, as I arrived and met up with some of the people I would be training with, we couldn't even get drinks anywhere because they prohibit alcohol sales on Sundays. That was a total bummer because it would've been a nice way to start off the week and break the ice with the new people that I met. One reason I would not go here is because I seem to be the only asian in the town. It was cool because everyone was nice, but it feels kinda funny if you can't relate to anyone else.

Training for the new dental software was pretty exciting, we learned about some new products which they had coming out as well as the hardware that they had out in the market. I don't want to bore you guys with the computer jibberish, but I learned quite a few new things.

The best part of the trip was the free food which was included in our stay. Sunday night, we ate dinner at Outback Steakhouse. Monday, for lunch we had Mexican food (it was alright, Cali has better Mexican food) and for dinner we ate at Tepanyaki Japanese Steakhouse (comparable to Benihana's). Tuesday by far was the best day, for lunch we had Olive Garden catered and for dinner we ate at this Brazilian restaurant called Tucanos, this was one of the best places to eat in that area. If you haven't gone to a Brazilian all you can eat buffet, you should check it out. They have waiters walking around with skewers filled with all the meat such as Top Sirloin, Garlic Parmesian Beef, Teriyaki Beef, and many more. Those were the few items that we ate. After all that meat, I was happy to top it off with a nice flan desset.

My stay here wasn't that bad, I met a lot of pretty cool guys who knew stuff about the computer/dental business and the food made up for the place being so boring.

The Perfect Weekend...

IMG_2622

Friday night started off awesome going to the Clippers playoff Game 3 at the Staples Center. The weekend festivities began by going to Staples Center a hour before tip off which paid off because I was able to score a couple tickets for Game 4 by winning them from the AM 570 radio station. Once they said they were gonna give out tickets to the craziest person who yelled the loudest, so wanting the tickets I started screaming and yelling like a deranged monkey. This got me all hyped up for the weekend becuse I knew I would be going to another Clipper Playoff game in a couple of days. Although the Clippers lost Game 3, I still had fun in my first Clipper Playoff experience.

Saturday, was my cousin's wedding over in Pasadena. It started off sucky driving through traffic on the 5 freeway, but we were able to make it in time for the wedding. After the wedding, I was able to stop by and grab some fudge over at this dessert shop a while back, thanks to Sherwin and Cicely for reminding me of the place. Then headed to the wedding reception over at the Hilton Pasadena. Another fun time with the cousins started off drinking the usually jack and coke and cape cod as my cousin Rodney seems to like. All the cousins went a little crazy that night, drinking and dancing all night long. I am glad to see the new bride and groom, Kristine & Wayne. I will surely be glad to watch your condo while you guys go on your honeymoon. So, I'll be housesitting at my cousin's pad in Irvine for the next two weeks.

Sunday, mother's day, was a lot of fun spending lunch with my momma and relatives over at my uncle's house. After the lunch, it was off to Game 4 of the Clippers Playoff matchup against the Suns. This time, the Clippers were able to overcome the Suns and tie the Series 2-2. I also bought a new Shawn Livingston jersey at The Team LA store because they had 50% off all reebok apparel. By this time, I pretty much lost my voice with all the yelling and screaming the past few days, but it was all worth it spending time with my family and my favorite team.

Today at work was pretty crazy because I could not speak. I sounded like a horse that squeaked off and on, so I tried to keep my speaking to a minimum. I mainly whispered throughout the day, but I was able to make do. Hopefully by tomorrow I'll be able to speak in a normal fashion. Thanks to all for a wonderful weekend. GO CLIPPERS!!!

I've found my best sleeping style

Recently, I've tried a new approach to sleeping and found the best sleeping style. Instead of sleeping on my normal pillows, I bunched up my comforter into a ball and use it as a pillow. The normal pillows are placed on each side of my body which keep me from moving. I've have about a weeks straight of good sleep thanks to this new approach. The best thing is when I wake up, I wake up in the same position that I slept in the first place. But most of all, I do not have that neckache or backache that normally occurs when you sleep in an unusual way. My previous sleeping position was on my right side facing the window so that I could have some air flowing into my face.

I found something on WebMD that says "What Your Sleeping Style Says About You". This is a pretty interesting article, try and read it if you have the time.

Yeah, this was a pretty weird post, but I'm just happy to have a weeks worth of good rest. Alright, hope everyone is ready to watch the Clippers win the next series! Sorry to the Lakers fans whose team did not finish off the Suns. The Clippers will finish them off and trash them!

Trying Something New for a Change

Lately, I've been training for the Disneyland Half Marathon this coming September. I also have been training for the LAPD fitness test if I pass the LAPD written test this coming weekend, the psychological tests and background investigation that are pieces of the application process. It's something that intrigued me a while back when I spoke with my cousin and uncle about applying for the LAPD. My uncle currently works for the LAPD and has been asking if I wanted to join and should take the test and see if I like it. My cousin already took the written test and is on his way to taking the physical testing process. There's nothing wrong if I don't try and I will never know unless I try is what I tell myself. I gave this a lot of thought and after some encouragement and support from my family, I decided to start the next part the application process. It would be a great challenge for me and I am ready to take this on mentally and physically. It would also be a great motivating factor for me when I do my training sessions. Wish me luck...

Oh yeah, I forgot... GO CLIPPERS!! I am so excited that they finally won a Playoff Series. I can't wait to go to a Clippers Playoff game, hopefully next round it'll be their hometown rivals, the lakers.
