March Madness 2006

I am so excited for this year's for March Madness Tournament. It brings more college basketball being nationally televised and also upsets galore. For one, #11 ranked George Mason, who would've thought this team would make it this far especially beating the #1 ranked team Uconn. They were a huge underdog this whole time and I love how every team plays so hard just to have the chance to get that National Championship. I know alot of brackets have been broken with the main teams, Duke and Uconn, out of the tournament, but now I'm just hoping UCLA can make it to the finals. They got a pretty tough matchup with LSU as their next opponent. I think they're a pretty solid team and it would be nice to have California up in the Championship scene again.

The Final Four matchup are as followed (my predicted winners in bold):
#11 George Mason vs. #3 Florida
#2 UCLA vs #4 LSU

I can't wait to watch these games. Have a greaaat week everyone!

Good to Get Away...

This weekend was something I really needed to refresh everything that happened earlier this month. Getting away from home and flying up North was the perfect remedy. I also went up North to attend the graduation of the newly named Dr. Dimaano. Friday was a pretty crazy experience partying up with those new Chiropractors in Downtown San Jose. I never thought of running in the rain with dress shoes and then riding in an Excursion Limo only to be stopped by the cops after driving a few blocks past the club that we didn't get in. The next place we went to was fun because we drank it up and just hung out. The best part was when Me and Tony (Romeo's brother) kept on busting up Sherwin and whoever teamed up with him in Foosball. It sucked when we lost to a couple of girls who played us, we lost 4-5. Oh well, next time we go there I'll make sure we won't lose! After the night came to an end, we all went back to Romeo's pad. He was pretty drunk and wouldn't let us leave his place because he wanted us to drink more and hang out, but we promised him we would see him the next day and go out again.

Then comes Saturday, another crazy day partying up in San Francisco. This time our new tour guide was Jenn (another local Norcal resident). She is one crazy lady when intoxicated. I could not forget how she went up to this one fobby asian girl and said it was my birthday just so she could dance with me. I know Joesan has some pictures of that night. Man, I can't wait to see those pictures. The worst thing happened on our way back to the hotel... TRAFFIC! We were about 10 minutes away from our hotel when everything in front of me were red lights. This caused a delay for about 30 minutes. After that craziness on the road, I was able to sleep and get ready for our flight back home. Thanks to everyone for a wonderful weekend!

Weekend with Family

This past weekend was spent with family that I haven't seen together in a while. All the 12 cousins (on my mom's side) spent time catching up and celebrating the life of our lola. I do not know why we don't hang out that often, because when we do, it's pretty fun. I know most of us live in different states and so I think we should try to make it a habit to see each other besides on holidays. It was good smoking a cigar with my cousins after playing a game of poker. We all met up at Rodney's pad in Torrance. He's the eldest of the cousins and asked us to come over and hang out. Poker was fun because these guys play crazy, even the girls played so sometimes it would be hard to read the girls. They always go all-in and somehow win all the time, ha. Oh well, next time I won't play wild like I did last time. Our penalty for getting kicked out was singing a song by the person who took you out. So the song of choice was "Summer Nights", the Grease Theme song. They wanted a duet of me and Rodney, because we were the first ones out. I was a little hesitant at first, but then said what the heck... let's do this!

This was a good weekend to catch up with the family and pay my respects to my lola. I can't wait til this week ends, because we'll be going up north for Romeo's graduation.
